PayBack Has Been Retired

PayBack was removed from the App Store due to the difficulty in keeping an old legacy app up to date with the latest Apple UI standards and privacy requirements. Rather than patch the old codebase, DivvyTrip was built from the ground up with modern technology.

Name Change: The name was also changed due to conflicts with some violent games with almost the same name as PayBack. DivvyTrip better reflects what the app does: divvying up trip expenses among friends.

Data Migration: A final PayBack update will be pushed to the App Store to allow users to export trips as CSV attachments for easy import into DivvyTrip.

⚠️ Features Not (Yet) in DivvyTrip

While rebuilding the app, the focus was on the most-used features. A few less common PayBack features are not currently available:

Attaching images to trips or expenses
Using a single user to represent a group of people
Splitting expenses unequally among participants (note: CSV imports will split expenses equally)

Q: What happens to my existing PayBack data?

A: Your PayBack data remains stored locally on your device. A final update will be released to allow you to export trips as CSV files, which can then be imported into DivvyTrip. Note that unequal splits will be converted to equal splits among participants during import.

Q: Can I export my PayBack data to DivvyTrip?

A: Yes! A final PayBack update will add the ability to export trips as CSV attachments. You can then import these CSV files directly into DivvyTrip using the Import feature.

Q: Will PayBack continue to work?

A: PayBack has been removed from the App Store. If you already have it installed, it will continue to function on your device. One final update will be pushed to enable CSV export for data migration to DivvyTrip.

Q: Is DivvyTrip free?

A: DivvyTrip is available for $2.99 on the App Store. Former PayBack users who contacted support@ipaybackapp.com may be eligible for a free promo code - check your email for details.

Q: How do I backup my PayBack data?

A: PayBack data is stored locally on your device and included in your iOS backups. You can also export trip files from the app and save them to Files, iCloud Drive, or email them to yourself.

Q: What if I need help with PayBack?

A: For critical issues with PayBack, you can contact support using the form below. However, please note that support is very limited. For ongoing trip management, we strongly recommend switching to DivvyTrip.

Q: Can I use both apps?

Missing Data

PayBack stores data locally. If data is missing:

Check if you recently restored your device from a backup
Verify you haven't deleted the app (this removes all data)
Look for exported trip files in Files or email

Photos Not Attaching

Ensure PayBack has permission to access your photos:

Go to Settings → Privacy → Photos
Find PayBack and ensure it's enabled
